January 5, 2020How Facebook is allowing media companies and brands to create their own groups within their pages
Administrators have now been given the ability by Facebook to set up their own groups. By doing this, Facebook has enabled media and brand companies to be able to boost their engagement with all their niche groups. Facebook was able to announce that they are now expanding globally with this new feature that they have been testing for some months now.
According to Linda Xiong product manager at Facebook, the new feature is going to be a way in which different brands are going to be able to create their very own pages without necessarily having to rely on admins who had to set up groups for the company or brands personal accounts. This change isadvantageous to many social media managers especially those who would like to have a little bit more separation and privacy from their work. It is also a way in which organizations can be able to create their very own official groups that any unofficial or third party fan or group cannot be able to gain access. Linda Xiong said that this kind of update was a sort of external expansion and reinforcement of their mission which is to bring people from all around the world together. In a Facebook post by Chris Cox who is the chief product officer, he went on to explain just how important group pages would be even for publishers. In the month of April, the company was able to roll out some tools that would be used by groups. This rolling out was done at the inaugural communities Summit for Facebook which was held in Chicago.
MarkZuckerberg, the Ceo of Facebook, also talked about the new feature explaining how groups can now be used to offer support to their users. He also talked about how important it was to build and take care of our communities.
