In the heart of Kenya, a transformative journey unfolded as Janeson Films embarked on a seven-day documentary project in collaboration with the Henan Highway Engineering Group. This captivating documentary aimed to shed light on the impactful road construction projects spearheaded by Henan, showcasing not only the technical prowess of the construction company but also the positive changes it brought to local communities.
The documentary commenced at the Henan HQ Office in Lavington, capturing the hustle and bustle of the engineering firm’s daily activities. The Janeson team meticulously documented various interactions, interviews, and office activities, providing viewers with a behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of Henan. To bring the project to life visually, Janeson Films employed an impressive array of equipment, including a DJI Drone for aerial shots, a Black Magic Pocket 6k Camera for high-quality visuals, lapel microphones for crisp audio, a Canon 5D Mark IV for versatility, and Godox Video Lightings to ensure optimal lighting conditions.
Transportation was seamlessly arranged by Henan, with a sleek black Toyota Prado VX serving as the team’s vehicle as they traveled across various counties. Accommodations were secured through Airbnb in different towns, with special gratitude extended to hosts in Nakuru and Eldoret for their support.
The journey unfolded as the team departed Nairobi, making their first stop in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County. There, the team captured the impressive fleet of motor graders and Asphalt Pavers in action, while also gathering testimonials from locals. One heartfelt statement in Swahili expressed profound gratitude to Henan Engineering Group for responding to the government’s call to improve the roads, which had a direct impact on healthcare accessibility.
The documentary continued its exploration, with stops in Nakuru and Kabarnet, Baringo County. The team spent a day at a large campsite, capturing the progress of road construction in the Seretunin area. Interviews with locals, including the resident engineer from KENHA, school teachers, and boda boda operators, offered insights into the tangible benefits the road construction brought to the community.
As the sun set over Kabarnet town, the Janeson team regrouped, spending the night in anticipation of the journey ahead. The next morning saw them in Moi’s Bridge, capturing drone shots and conducting interviews with residents whose lives had been significantly impacted by the improved roads.
The final leg of the journey took the team to Kainuk, situated at the border of West Pokot and Turkana. Here, the documentary highlighted the transformative impact of the road network, improving security and attracting investors to the region.
In closing, the documentary not only showcased the technical marvels of road construction but also captured the human stories, illustrating how Henan Highway Engineering Group’s projects were not just about building roads but creating pathways to a better future for the people of Kenya.
